# Credits, reuse and attribution

**I am free to dream—and you are welcome to carry the dream further.** Ahimanikya Satapathy approved attributed reuse and adaptation of his poems and artwork on 27 September 2026.

## What is open

Except where a separate credit or notice says otherwise, the author-controlled poems, project-authored adaptation drafts, musical prompts, cultural reasoning and guides in this repository are licensed under **[Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/)**. This grant covers rights the author holds; it does not assert copyright over material that has no copyright protection. It applies to the public collection, not to unrelated work on the author’s blog.

The author’s original 1993 artworks at `media/images/ahimanikya-artwork-1993.png` and `media/images/ahimanikya-yellow-green-1993.png` are also CC BY 4.0. Keep their credits when reusing them. Project-authored decorative SVG artwork is CC BY 4.0. The AI-generated cover retains its AI credit; any rights held by the author in it are offered under the same terms, without claiming exclusive copyright in AI-generated elements.

You may share and adapt this licensed material, including for commercial work. Give appropriate credit, link the license and identify changes; do not imply endorsement. These permissions cannot be withdrawn for compliant uses. The [legal code](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode.en) governs; privacy, likeness, trademark and other rights may still apply.

Project-authored software in `scripts/`, `skills/**/scripts/`, `web/` (HTML, CSS and JavaScript), and tests is licensed under the [MIT License](https://github.com/ahimanikya/free-to-dream/blob/main/LICENSE-CODE). Dependencies retain their own licenses. Documentation and SVG artwork in those folders use CC BY 4.0 instead.

## Recordings and outside contributions

**MP3, M4A, MP4, performances, generated music and vocals are not included in this blanket CC license.** Consult each recording’s credits and explicit reuse terms. Permission to stream or share a review copy is not a commercial soundtrack license; `rights_status: confirmed` records a release check, not an open license. Contact the project through a GitHub issue for uses not explicitly granted. Do not assume a linked reference, quoted material or a contributor’s work is owned by the project.

Future text, guide, prompt and code contributions must explicitly agree to the applicable project license before acceptance. Media contributors state their own grant, sources, performers and permissions. Earlier external contributions retain their prior terms unless their holders agree otherwise. A maintainer must resolve unclear ownership before labeling content openly reusable.

Retain named translator, artist and reviewer credits where supplied. For research or production notes, cite the individual language page, its source revision/hash and your access date. Credit does not turn an unchecked draft into a verified translation.

## Provenance and private evidence

The author reports writing the original Odia poem during college, before 1993; a precise composition date is not recorded here. Original wording remains on the source-poem page. Initial adaptations and musical directions are AI-assisted. Suno music and vocals and AI-generated cover imagery are identified separately from the author’s signed 1993 painting.

Private drafts, source scans, service records, character-reference photographs and publication evidence remain outside the public site. Opening the published poem and artwork does not authorize publishing these private files or using the author’s likeness.

The curated originals listed in `catalog/artworks.json`, including their unchanged source photographs in `media/artworks/`, are included in the author’s artwork grant. `catalog/artwork-provenance.json` records AI reinterpretations presented in their own gallery; those are not presented as the author’s original paintings. Gallery captions are contemporary reflections.

Images in the AI-generated gallery retain their AI provenance credit. Any rights the author holds in them follow the same attributed-reuse terms, without claiming exclusive copyright in generated elements.
